Weekend Respite
This program gives families one weekend off per month. For many families this is the first time they have had the ability to plan dinners out, a weekend away, time with siblings or just to see a movie. For parents to know that their children are well cared for and are also having fun allows them the break they need to go forward for another month.

Monday Overnights
The individuals in this program spend every Monday night at the Respite Center. Six years ago we started this program with three children, now we have twelve. This program allows families two full days per week off. Transportation picks the children up at home on Monday morning and doesn't take them home until Tuesday afternoon.

After School Care
This program is designed for working parents. It runs five days a week. Children range in age from four to twenty-one. Children begin to arrive at 2:30 and stay with us until parents can pick them up after work. The program is centered around recreational activities and personal care. Many of our families in this program are headed by single mothers. For many families work had not been an option because they could not find the care their children needed.

The Daycare Center
Our daycare center servers children from birth to four years. During the course of the day children receive the physical, occupational and developmental therapies they need combined with the water play, crafts and fun. For Moms who have to work, the daycare center is a God send. For others, one day a week gives Mom and Dad the break they need to grocery shop, spend time with siblings or just rest.

Adult Day Program
At the age of twenty-two families face the end to entitled educational services provided by schools. Many adults with disabilities end up at home with little to do. For parents this can be a time of great agony. Our program concentrates on teaching the daily living skills that are needed for each individual to reach their highest level of independence. We concentrate on cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, social skills, behavioral modification, shopping and money management. Goals range from learning to shower independently to learning how to interact in a public place.

Employment Support for Individuals with Disabilities
The employment program is part of our adult day program. We have developed seven job sites within the Hopkinton community. We provide job development, training and coaching within these sites for many of our adults with mental retardation. The joy of having a job has the wonderful effect of increasing self-confidence, responsibility and the overall feeling of being a productive part of society.

Saturday Night Out
The first Saturday night of the month we sponsor "Saturday Night Out". Twelve to fourteen adults with disabilities come together to go out for pizza then out for a fun time. Our most popular outings are bowling, movies, carnivals and high school sporting events. For parents to have a night out knowing that their children are also having fun makes our respite program unique.

Elementary School Disability Awareness
We have partnered with the elementary school in town to teach disability awareness. Two college students give tours of the Respite Center, answer questions about disabilities and introduce the children to some of the individuals at the Center. This position is an internship placement for Providence College students.
